Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Publication: 213.00 (ZAR)
Publishing with open access is not without costs. OpenJournals Publishing (OJP) recovers those costs though APF because it does not charge subscription fees to readers. OJP believes that immediate, world-wide, barrier-free, open access to the full text of research articles is in the best interests of the scientific community and the public at large.

The corresponding author, on behalf of the authors, is responsible for the payment of APF, and must confirm, at the time of submission, that s/he will organize payment of APF should the article be accepted for publication. This responsibility may not be delegated to any third party unless agreed to by the publisher.

The APF becomes payable only once a manuscript has received editorial acceptance in principle and the formatting (copy editing, layout editing and proofreading) on the manuscript commence. Once these are completed, and full payment of the APF has been received, the article will be published. Prompt payment of APF is advised, as the article will not be published until full payment is received.

The APF is due within 30 days of invoicing. Payment can be made by Credit Card Payment, Electronic Funds Transfer, or Check. If payment is done by electronic funds transfer from a non-South African bank account, the payee will be responsible for any bank transfer charges at the time of the transaction. A receipt will be sent by email once payment has been received.

The APF for this journal is R213.00 [excluding VAT] per A4 output page in PDF format for the first 9 pages, thereafter we charge R415.00 [excluding VAT] per page exceeding 9 pages. This APF will be valid for the calendar year 2010 and may be changed at any time in the sole discretion of the publisher.

Authors may apply for waiver of APF, which may be granted in the sole discretion of the publisher. It is our policy that APF should not prevent the publication of any exceptionally worthy work.
